Promotion In The Anointing

Friend, imagine you sent someone on a contract job to build a house and you gave him some money for the project. If he spends the money on other things and then came back to you crying for more, would you give him more money? No, right? It's the same way with the anointing. The anointing came for a purpose. Paul said, "Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us" (Romans 12:6). The Greek word for gifts here is "charisma," and the Greek word for grace is "charis." So, charisma is a combination of two Greek words: charis and ma.
Charis means grace, and 'ma' is from the original Greek word for present or gift, 'doma' (Ephesians 4:8). Therefore, charisma means "grace-gifts," and grace means purpose or assignment. Paul said, "If you have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God that is given to me..." and he explains what he means by grace: "Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach..." (Ephesians 3:2, 8). So, he explains grace here as a purpose or assignment. As I said, "gifts" means charisma, therefore it simply means "purpose-gifts"—gifts that God gave to us for the fulfilment of our heavenly agenda (see the purpose and anointing series).
That was why the scripture said we are given gifts differing according to our grace because we all do not have the same purpose on earth. There are diversities of gifts, but all are from the same Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:4). The Greek word for gifts here is still charisma, and it means spiritual endowment or simply put, the anointing. So, there are diversities of anointing, but all are from the same Spirit. You see, the anointing came for the purpose! When God sends a man, He empowers him to fulfil what He has sent him to do. Like the picture we tried to paint in the beginning, the anointing came for the purpose, and it would only increase when we are on our assignment.
Let us use the story of Samson in Judges 13-16 to illustrate this. Samson had a divine assignment to deliver Israel out of the hands of the Philistines, and God gave him a purpose gift or an anointing to help him fulfil that agenda. But although Samson had this anointing, it was not in full manifestation at first. In fact, scripture says the Spirit of the Lord began to move him at times in the camp of Dan. Maybe during training, he would lift something extraordinary or do some outstanding feat, but he did not at that time manifest in the fullness of the anointing because if he did, they would have made him judge over Israel immediately.
At one time in his life, the anointing came on him when a 'young' lion roared at him, and he rent the lion with his bare hands. But I noticed that whenever Samson was near the Philistines, the manifestation of the anointing upon him increased.
First, the Spirit began to move him, and he would do some things, and then the lion roared at him, and he killed it. But when the Philistines shouted against him, the anointing came mightily upon him as it did with the lion. But this time, something was strange. It was recorded that the cords that were upon his arms became like flax that was burnt with fire. The anointing came so strong on him that fire was burning inside him, and he took the jawbone of an ass and slew a thousand men.
I'm sure the jawbone must have been on fire too when he used it. Anytime Samson was around the Philistines, the anointing upon him seemed to manifest greatly. Even when they cut his hair and captured him, the scripture said howbeit the hair, which was a symbol of his anointing, began to grow! Friend, there is a link between the growth of your anointing and your purpose. Samson manifested greatly in the anointing whenever he was around the Philistines. Even in his death, he killed more people than when he was alive because he was in their midst. The anointing manifests greatly in the place and purpose where God sent you! Scripture says the word of God shall prosper whereunto God sent it, and the word of God is spirit and life. So, the anointing grows in the place and the purpose where God sent it.
Faithfulness to your calling is what commits God's integrity to increase His unction upon your life! Bishop Oyedepo said we are not anointed to sit, we are anointed to go. Jesus was anointed with power, and He went about! One way to increase the anointing is to walk and remain in the place where God has sent or commissioned you. Remain Blessed!
